The good old days when you used to be able to charge on your card and you didn't have to worry about how much are payments are gone.  And now managing your credit card has become a difficult task to do. The payments have become ridiculously high and the amount you owe to creditors is at a level where you cannot even dare to look at your credit statement.

So how can you manage all your credit card debt without losing your head. Well here are three basic steps you can use to help manage your debt.

One of the first steps you can do to manage your debt is to cut costs around your home. Simply call PG&E to ask them what kind of discount program you might qualify for so you can reduce your electrical and gas bill. Most of the discount programs can help you save up to 20%. So make sure you give your gas and electric provider a call so you can save some money.  Every dollar adds up along the way. Even if it's five dollars or $10, its all going to help you in the long-term.

Another step you can use to manage your credit card is to request a change on the terms of your account. You will be surprised that your creditors actually want to help you with your credit card debt. Most creditors know that if you can't pay your debt then you just might file bankruptcy. So its a losing situation for everyone if you don't decide to be active about doing something about your debt.

Get control of your finances before the creditors start taking all your property to pay for the credit card debt you owe them.
